Entering this stage before the Twilight Lich is defeated will inflict Hunger. The Minoshroom can be found in Labyrinths , which are found in the Twilight Swamp biome.
Natural entrances can be found through caves, or the small hills found in the surface that lead directly to the center. The goal of this dungeon is to kill the Minoshroom.
Killing it and eating one of the dropped Meef Stroganoff will allow the player to enter the Fire Swamp.
Killing it and obtaining Fiery Blood from it will allow the player to enter the Dark Forest. The third stage in Twilight Forest progression is the Dark Forest biome.
Added to its already extreme darkness, players will have Blindness inflicted on them unless they have defeated the Hydra first.
This can be circumvented if the player is wearing a helmet with a Night Vision enchantment. Before being able to enter the stronghold, the player must find a room with a Trophy Pedestal.
On the pedestal, they must place a trophy from one of the previous bosses. Once this is done, the shield around the stronghold will be removed.
The player will then need to go through the stronghold until the Knight Phantom is found. Once found, it should be killed.
Doing so will allow access to the Dark Tower. It is found at the top of the tower, along with many other monsters, such as Carminite Ghastlings , Towerwood Borers , and Carminite Golems.
Killing it will allow to continue to the snow stage. Its fiery tears must be dropped and picked back up in order to progress.
If entered before completing previous stages, the player will freeze and move much slower than in other biomes. There are four natural entrances.
Inside the lair are many Yeti packs. This is the final stage of the Snowy Forest and Glacier , and when complete, will allow the player to move onto the final stages of progression.
There are three final stages of progression: Troll Cave , Thornlands , and Castle. These stages will be in the order provided previously, though the final is not yet implemented into the mod.
To complete this achievement, the player must obtain the Lamp of Cinders. This stage will allow for the player to advance to the Thorns stage.
The Thornlands stage is the final functioning stage in Twilight Forest. It is completed by obtaining either a Thorns block, or a Green Thorns block.
They come in many sizes and are very weak. They can be bred, and drop venison and leather on death, making them a viable breeding animal for farming.
Boars are peaceful animals that spawn occasionally in the woods area of the Twilight dimension. They come in many sizes, are weak, and drop raw pork chops on death, like regular pigs.
While most mods make boars aggressive to the player, the Twilight Forest boars are entirely peaceful and can be bred using carrots and ridden with a saddle, exactly like the pigs in the Overworld.
The woods of the Twilight dimension are also home to a number of mobs that are there purely for ambiance and have no gameplay purpose.
Rabbits, birds, squirrels, and fireflies will all spawn in the woods and roam freely. They are extremely weak, but drop absolutely nothing when killed.
The Redcap Goblins are a feisty bunch. These hostile mobs are equipped with a pickaxe, TNT, and iron boots. They can take a punch, and can deal lots of damage with their TNT attack if they get behind you, which they will try to do.
You can identify them through their green markings on the pickaxe and boots, and then act appropriately. They drop one of the parts you need for a Magic Map, as well as sometimes some iron equipment.
Kobolds are another hostile type of mob that spawns mostly in Hollow Hills, though they can spawn anywhere where there is no light.
Take one out, and the rest will panic, making it easier to take them all out. They sometimes drop gold nuggets.
Wraiths are rare mobs that spawn in big Hollow Hills. They are quite dangerous as they pack quite a punch and can take a beating, as well as fly — making them difficult to hit.
They drop glowstone dust on death. They drop string and spider eyes on death. Like normal spiders, they drop string and spider eyes.
The other Hedge Maze baddie is the Hostile Wolf. These wolves are identical to the wolves in the overworld once they turn hostile, and are very fast and dangerous.
It spawns only through the spawner found in Druid Huts — one of the many randomly generated landmarks in the Twilight Forest. They can take a punch, and deal lots of damage as well as poison the player, making the raid of a Druid Hut very dangerous.
Think of them as the witches of the Twilight dimension. They drop another crafting material needed for the Magic Map, and sometimes, their golden hoe.
The first boss in the woods area, and therefore the entire Twilight dimension, is the Naga. The courtyard is a rather large area of stone pillars and grass.
The Naga will spawn once you enter the courtyard. Nonetheless, it looks big and dangerous, and the fight is certainly very exciting.
Bosses will be in their giant recognizable structures, and new biomes will be protected from your interference until you reach them through the progression system.
This guide will help you understand that progression system and enjoy the mod without being confused as to what is going on.
It will tell you the basics of how to move on, without trying to reveal the gritty details, allowing for a pleasant educated experience while maintaining most of the wonder of exploring the world yourself.
To enter the Twilight Forest dimension you have to build a simple, yet fitting portal. Lightning will strike, and a portal will appear through which you can enter and start your adventure.
But first, you have to build your foothold. You will need a base of operations, even when you progress beyond the initial biome. I recommend building a simple home next to your portal.
It could also be beneficial to craft a Magic Map out of some simple easy to obtain new Twilight Forest items , as it will mark nearby bosses and points of interest.
From the outside, Hollow Hills look like regular overworld hills, but somehow too… neat. On the inside, they are filled with spawners and dangerous, but also loot in the form of chests and ore.
Brave the hill and defeat the swarm of enemies, then enjoy the spoils of your labor. Hedge Mazes are large, but well lit, mazes made of leaf blocks.
They have a clear entrance, though you can always block above them for easy access. Those are the most common problems.
Although a lot of the Twilight Forest is rather tranquil, some places are definitely unsafe. The portals do not have any particular safeguards.
It is rare, but you could arrive in the courtyard of a rampaging Naga, in a Hollow Hill, or even on top of a tall tree.
Be prepared to defend your portal, or to flee if necessary. You can make a portal back to the Overworld in the same way as you initially made the portal to get to the Twilight Forest.
Diamonds appear in the Twilight Forest at the same rate, and at the same depths as in the Overworld. Your respawn point in the Twilight Forest will be at the same coordinates as your respawn point in the Overworld.
That doesn't mean that it will be near your portal, or anywhere recognizable. For that reason, it may be advisable to either make your portal near your respawn point, or to place and use a bed near your portal soon after you arrive.
Some tech mods or ore mods have a tree or ladder structure, where you have to build items from one stage in order to reach the next stage.
In the Twilight Forest , you can roughly measure your progress by combat difficulty. Since most of the forest is peaceful, the difficulty is centered around the various landmarks.
This guide attempts to rank the landmarks by difficulty, and to break them into tiers, so the organized adventurer can be prepared for what awaits.
The first thing you want to do is craft yourself a Magic Map. The landmarks in the Wooden Tier are fairly easy, and can be attempted with little or no armor, and simple wood, stone, or iron weapons.
Hedge Mazes are a good place to start out, as most monsters die in hits from any weapon. The treasure chests inside frequently have food or other useful supplies for your journey ahead.
Small Hollow Hills are a good introduction to the Hollow Hill concept, and can help you build a supply of iron for armor, and coal for torches.
They can be somewhat claustrophobic compared to the Medium or Large hills, but that can work in your favor, by breaking up packs of monsters, preventing them from swarming you.
Small Hills are also a good place to find Glowstone, if you haven't crafted a Magic Map yet. The Iron Tier landmarks are where things start to get rather difficult.
It's recommended to have iron armor or higher, becuase the Naga is waiting.
